The HLF on this "inspirational" project

Featured on BBC Gloucestershire News

The Friends pledged £5,000 in support of the Fielding and Platt Community Archive Project and, in early June 2012, learned that it had won nearly ten times as much from the Heritage Lottery Fund. Described by the HLF as "inspirational" the project is led by Gloucestershire Archives and Gloucester City Centre Community Partnership with support from the Gloucester Civic Trust.

The Project draws on the enthusiasm and dedication of many volunteers in capturing and preserving the spoken memories of the Atlas Works site - where Gloucester Quays is today - which produced innovative machinery to be exported around the world.

The Project is keen to hear from anyone with memories of Fielding and Platt and the Atlas Works, who is interested in volunteering or who has memorabilia of those days - please get in touch with:
